UGA’s weeklong homecoming celebration continues with its annual parade through downtown Athens featuring the Redcoat Band, athletes and floats designed by students and faculty. The parade will kick off at the intersection of Hancock Avenue and Pulaski Street, then take lefts onto Clayton, Thomas and Washington streets. Road closures begin at 4 p.m., and the parade begins marching at 6 p.m. Afterwards, University Union will offer a carnival at Legion Field from 7–11 p.m. with rides, attractions and fair foods like funnel cakes, fried Oreos and cotton candy. The homecoming king and queen will be crowned during the halftime show at Saturday’s game against the Missouri Tigers.
