“Out There! Photographs in the Spirit of Jeremy Ayers” celebrates the life of the songwriter, playwright and staple of the Athens art scene through an exhibition featuring over a dozen photographers who share his keen eye for capturing the uncanniness and surreality of life. To close out the exhibition, ATHICA will screen Jim Herbert’s short film “Carnival,” a rare gem circa 1983 that depicts some of the only existing footage of Ayers’ musical project Limbo District. The evening also includes a panel discussion on current issues in photography. The final opportunity to view “Out There!” will be during a show of local bands and Brooklyn act Frank Hurricane held the following night from 5–11 p.m.
Watch rare footage of Jeremy Ayers' band, Limbo District, in Jim Herbert's short film, Carnival. A panel discussion will follow. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Out There! Photographs in the Spirit of Jeremy Ayers." See Calendar Pick on p. 20.
