Desertion Trio, Juan de Fuca, Jianna Justice

One of my favorite live shows of the last couple years came at the very start of 2015, when Philadelphia guitarist Chris Forsyth played Normaltown Hall with his explosive Solar Motel Band. So it comes as welcome news that Solar Motel guitarist Nick Millevoi is bringing his latest project to town: the brash, psychedelic Desertion Trio, which also features members of mystic-metal outfit Sabbath Assembly and long-running experimental rockers Talibam. Drawing from knotty free jazz and searing noise-rock, the group takes the riff-rock revival to a totally cosmic level. Locals Juan de Fuca and Jianna Justice share Wednesday’s Caledonia bill.
