Fall Lit Ball

In celebration of its 70th anniversary, The Georgia Review is spearheading a literary festival showcasing the creative outputs of Athens’ dense literary and publishing communities. Various organizations will pull together for a lineup that features a storytelling workshop with Rabbit Box, poetry readings with Athens Word of Mouth, live music by Claire Cronin and readings presented by Avid Bookshop, UGA Creative Writing and UGA Press. An all-day book fair will offer selections from 16 small presses and journals. The ball kicks off Friday with readings by poets Stacy Szymaszek and Simone White, and Saturday’s attractions culminate with a reading by Pulitzer-winning poet Sharon Olds.
