BEAUTY PILL
(Caledonia) Word is that Beauty Pill, whose members have been involved on some level with acts like Dismemberment Plan, Fugazi and Burning Airlines, are working on a new album and recruiting new players. When Flagpole contacted the eclectic post-punk DC group to set up an interview, the band told us that this show wasn't happening any more due to a mixup with their booking agent. But our friends at the Caledonia Lounge say that as far as they know, the show's still on. So if you show up and Beauty Pill's playing, cool. If not, well, don't say we didn't warn you.

COLOSTOMY BAG
(Transmetropolitan) Tonight's the last show for this thrash local band (with a djembe), whose release this spring, A Vercundus Propositio, was, according to one reviewer, "as accurate a representation of Colostomy Bag’s incendiary 10-minute set as one could hope to capture on disc. The vocals are a good deal more polished, and therefore more intelligible, than you’re likely to hear in their basement, where the band plays often."

He and his backing band are heading up to New York soon for a few performances.
